- Food additives are not automatically required to get premarket approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- Items that fall under the “generally recognized as safe” (GRAS) designation are exempt from the approval process; food manufacturers use this loophole to add novel ingredients without FDA oversight
- Four consumer protection groups say the process for determining GRAS substances is in violation of the 1958 law, which requires the FDA to determine the safety of an ingredient before it can be used in food

Non-GMO corn offers far more nutrition without the poison, study shows
An eye-opening investigation conducted by Canada's only supplier of
non-GMO corn seed has revealed that genetically modified "Frankencorn"
is severely lacking in a number of vital nutrients. Compared to non-GMO
corn varieties, Monsanto's Roundup Ready corn contains only a small
fraction of the amount of calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, copper,
manganese and carbon normally found in natural corn.
Shattering the myth that there's no substantial difference between GMO and non-GMO crops, the report by De Dell Seed Company of London, Ontario, shows that GMO corn is nutritionally deficient and wholly unfit for human consumption. In nearly every vitamin and mineral category tested, GMO corn was found to contain only trace amounts of many key nutrients necessary for life.
According to the report, corn ears were selected from two adjacent corn fields in Iowa -- one growing Roundup Ready corn and the other growing non-GMO corn. The corn ears were selected from multiple locations in each field two weeks prior to harvest to get a proper sampling, and they were then shelled from the cob and sent to a laboratory for testing.
When the results came back, researchers found that the Roundup Ready corn contained 13 parts per million (ppm) of glyphosate, the primary active ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup herbicide that the WHO recently recognized[PDF] as "probably carcinogenic to humans," which is the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established legal limit for this pesticide. The non-GMO corn, on the other hand, contained no glyphosate.
"The EPA standards for glyphosate in water in America is .7ppm," explains Moms Across America. "European tests showed organ damage to animals at .1ppb (.0001ppm) of glyphosate in water. Our water levels allow glyphosate 7,000X higher than what has been shown to be toxic in animals. This corn has 13 ppm! 130,000 times higher than what is toxic in water!" (emphasis added)
Similarly, the GMO corn samples were found to have higher pH levels, higher sodium content and significantly less natural phosphate, potassium, calcium and magnesium compared to the non-GMO corn. The "Brix" quality measurement of the GMO corn, which gauges sucrose content, was also found to be only one-twentieth of the Brix score for non-GMO corn.
In each of the following categories, non-GMO corn was found to have significantly higher nutrient levels:
The soils of the non-GMO corn were also found to be superior in terms of their mineral content, presumably because they weren't sprayed with nutrient-robbing glyphosate, which draws out the vital nutrients of living things:
The base saturation rates, which represent a measure of soil nutrient density, were also determined as follows:
"[T]he scariest part of this is that any RR plant (corn, soybean, canola, cotton, sugar beet or alfalfa) that is sprayed with glyphosate could potentially produce formaldehyde when it is sprayed with glyphosate and then the formaldehyde would unknowingly end up in the feed and food supply," explains Moms Across America.

- Potassium: more than 16 times higher
- Calcium: more than 437 times higher
- Magnesium: more than 56 times higher
The soils of the non-GMO corn were also found to be superior in terms of their mineral content, presumably because they weren't sprayed with nutrient-robbing glyphosate, which draws out the vital nutrients of living things:
The base saturation rates, which represent a measure of soil nutrient density, were also determined as follows:
- Sulfur: 14 times higher in non-GMO corn
- Manganese: 7 times higher

- Copper: more than 6 times higher
- Cobalt: more than 7 times higher
- Molybdenum: more than 7 times higher
- Boron: more than 7 times higher
- Carbon: 30 times higher
GMO corn also contains dangerously high levels of toxic formaldehyde
Meanwhile, the GMO corn was found to contain extremely high levels of various chemicals, chlorides, glyphosate and even formaldehyde, which is normally metabolized into carbon dioxide through a process that is blocked by the spraying of glyphosate. Because glyphosate is a vital nutrient chelator, meaning it pulls out nutrients from the plants on which it is sprayed, experts believe the herbicide disrupts the normal enzymatic processes in plants that would otherwise break down formaldehyde."[T]he scariest part of this is that any RR plant (corn, soybean, canola, cotton, sugar beet or alfalfa) that is sprayed with glyphosate could potentially produce formaldehyde when it is sprayed with glyphosate and then the formaldehyde would unknowingly end up in the feed and food supply," explains Moms Across America.

RECIPE: Beet Salad with Walnuts and Goat Cheese
If you’re looking for a recipe to compliment the flavor of your fresh beets, try the Food Network’s take on beet salad below. The beets are combined with creamy goat cheese and arugula, then dressed with a red wine vinegar and olive oil dressing. Walnuts, another nutrition powerhouse, are added in for some crunch.
The recipe makes four servings – enough to feed your family for dinner or save for a quick lunch for the week.
Beet Salad with Walnuts and Goat Cheese2Ingredients:
Directions:
- 2 bunches medium beets, (about 1 ½ pounds) tops trimmed
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ cup walnuts
- 1 bunch arugula, trimmed and torn
- ½ medium head escarole, torn
- 4 ounces goat cheese, (preferably aged goat cheese) crumbled
- Put the beets in a saucepan with water to cover and season generously with salt. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook until fork tender, about 20 minutes. When the beets are cool enough to handle, peel them--the skins should slide right off with a bit of pressure from your fingers. If they don't, use a paring knife to scrape off any bits that stick. Cut each beet into bite-sized wedges.
- Whisk the vinegar with salt and pepper, to taste, in a large bowl. Whisk in the olive oil in a slow steady stream to make a dressing. Toss the cut beets in the dressing; set aside to marinate for at least 15 minutes or up to 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spread the nuts on a baking sheet and oven-toast, stirring once, until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Cool.
- Toss the arugula and escarole with the beets and divide among 4 plates. Scatter the walnuts and goat cheese on top. Serve.

Beets Fight Chronic Disease, Including Inflammation
When inflammation runs rampant you are vulnerable to a plethora of chronic diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and many other illnesses that are appearing at alarmingly high rates today.
Your diet plays a key role in either fighting or promoting inflammation, and this is one area where beets shine. Beets are a unique source of betaine, a nutrient that helps protects cells, proteins, and enzymes from environmental stress.
It’s also known to help fight inflammation, protect internal organs, improve vascular risk factors, enhance performance, and likely help prevent numerous chronic diseases.3 As reported by the World’s Healthiest Foods:4
“[Betaine’s] …presence in our diet has been associated with lower levels of several inflammatory markers, including C reactive protein, interleukin-6, and tumor necrosis factor alpha. The powerful phytonutrients that give beets their deep crimson color may even help to ward off cancer. Research has shown that beetroot extract reduced multi-organ tumor formations in various animal models when administered in drinking water, for instance, while beetroot extract is also being studied for use in treating human pancreatic, breast, and prostate cancers.5
As a group, the anti-inflammatory molecules found in beets may eventually be shown to provide cardiovascular benefits in large-scale human studies, as well as anti-inflammatory benefits for other body systems.”
Drinking beet juice may also help to lower blood pressure in a matter of hours. One study found that drinking one glass of beet juice lowered systolic blood pressure by an average of 4-5 points.6
The benefit likely comes from the naturally occurring nitrates in beets, which are converted into nitric oxide in your body. Nitric oxide, in turn, helps to relax and dilate your blood vessels, improving blood flow, and lowering blood pressure.

Sleazebag doctors attacking Doctor Oz have histories of criminal fraud and ties to Monsanto's "Discredit Bureau"
The mainstream media has just been suckered by the "Monsanto Discredit
Bureau" into waging an all-out propaganda war against any person
revealing the very real dangers of glyphosate or GMOs. With some notable
exceptions, most mainstream media outlets operating today are now
functioning as Monsanto propaganda mouthpieces, viciously attacking those who should be celebrated as true American heroes.
To achieve their latest defamation campaign against Doctor Oz, the mainstream media relied on a fraudulent and slanderous letter signed by ten doctors addressing Columbia University, demanding Dr. Oz resign from a senior staff position there. But in reporting this, the entire mainstream media failed to look into the backgrounds of the doctors signing the letter. If they had done any background research at all, they would have found some astonishing things that completely discredit the letter and the malicious, contrived attack on Oz:
• A key signer of the letter, Dr. Gilbert Ross, is a convicted criminal and Medicaid fraud artist. He was "convicted of racketeering, mail fraud and conspiracy," and was "sentenced to 47 months in jail, $40,000 in forfeiture and restitution of $612,855" in a scheme to defraud the Medicaid system, reports the U.S. Right to Know campaign in a page describing the sleazy practices of the American Council on Science and Health (ACSH), where Dr. Ross is the executive director. To my knowledge, there isn't a single mainstream media website or news program that bothered to point this out, even though it destroys the credibility of the entire attack.
• More than half the doctors signing the letter have ties to the ACSH, a discredited industry front group steeped in chemical denialism. This is the group that once solicited money from Big Tobacco, claiming it would counter "pseudoscience" about cigarette smoking. The ACSH has also been a corporate-funded apologist for asbestos, Agent Orange, chemical endocrine disruptors, pesticides and herbicides. This is the group that the toxic chemical industry pays to wage precisely the kind of defamation and slander campaign that's now targeting Doctor Oz.
Learn more about the quack corporate science of the ACSH at Sourcewatch.org and this link.
• Another signer of the letter, Dr. Henry Miller, was a key corporate-funded sellout scientist enlisted to defeat GMO labeling in California. Dr. Miller conspired with the biotech industry almost as his official policy during his tenure with the FDA, where he co-founded the FDA Office of Biotechnology to serve as the FDA's front group that protected Monsanto profits. See his profile here, where Sourcewatch.org states:
A 1994 memo written by the Apco Associates PR firm (now called Apco Worldwide) for Philip Morris (PM) discusses plans to create a European branch of the PM-backed "junk science" front group The Advancement of Sound Science Coalition. The memo states,
Specifically, we recommend that a European TASSC be formulated to do the following:
Preempt unilateral action against industry.
Associate anti-industry "scientific" studies with broader questions about government research and regulations * Link the tobacco issue with other more "politically correct" products.
Have non-industry messengers provide reasons for legislators, business executives and media to view policies drawn from unreliable scientific studies with extreme caution.
The memo specifically cites Henry I. Miller as a "key supporter" who might be willing to assist in the execution of the project:
For example, Dr. Henry I. Miller, Visiting Fellow and Visiting Scholar of the Institute of International Studies of the Hoover Institute of Stanford University, is one example of a key supporter with strong academic and international credentials who might assist us in this project.
What we have with all this is a monumental failure of journalism -- mainstream media outright rejects the very idea that they should look into the 10 doctors making these allegations against Oz. In their rush to attack Doctor Oz, or the Food Babe, or the Seralini science team, mainstream media publishers utterly fail to see how they are being manipulated by the Monsanto Discredit Bureau. Or, alternatively, they are obedient to it and just following orders.
The solution to all this is simple, however: It's called REAL JOURNALISM. If mainstream media outlets actually took the time to do their research -- and found the courage to print the truth for a change -- it wouldn't be difficult for them to see how the ACSH and a handful of criminal doctors, fraudsters and character assassins can fabricate these attacks on people like Doctor Oz. This is a corporate-funded scientific dictatorship in action, seeking to destroy the voices of those who dare question the fraudulent corporate science behind the poisoning of the world with GMOs and glyphosate.
Monsanto has an entire department that does nothing but attack, discredit and defame anyone who dares utter the truth about GMO dangers or glyphosate toxicity.
"Recently, I attended a talk by Monsanto's Dr. William 'Bill' Moar who presented the latest project in their product pipeline dealing with RNA," reports Stephanie Hampton in this Daily Kos article. "One student asked what Monsanto was doing to counter the 'bad science' around their work. Dr. Moar, perhaps forgetting that this was a public event, then revealed that Monsanto indeed had 'an entire department' (waving his arm for emphasis) dedicated to 'debunking' science that disagreed with theirs. As far as I know this is the first time that a Monsanto functionary has publicly admitted that they have such an entity which brings their immense political and financial weight to bear on scientists who dare to publish against them."
Monsanto's Discredit Bureau even extends its reach all the way into the USDA, which actively conspires with the biotech industry to bury the truth about the dangers of GMOs and glyphosate. As Hampton writes in this article on the USDA, a petition directed at the USDA cites the outrageous collusion now under way:
USDA managers are interfering, intimidating, harassing, and in some cases punishing civil service scientists for doing work that has inconvenient implications for industry and could have direct policy / regulatory ramifications. For example, in recent months USDA scientists have been subjected to --
• Directives not to publish data on certain topics of particular sensitivity to industry;
• Orders to rewrite scientific articles already accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal to remove sections which could provoke industry objections;
• Summons to meet with Secretary Vilsack in an effort to induce retraction of a paper that drew the ire of industry representatives;
• Orders to retract a paper after it had been accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. The paper could only be published if the USDA scientist removed his authorship thus leaving only the names of authors unassociated with USDA;
• Demotion from supervisory status and a reprimand after the scientist provided testimony before Congress that did not reflect agency preferences;
• Disruptive and lengthy internal investigations to search out any irregularity that could be used for management leverage against the targeted scientist;
• Suspensions without pay and other disciplinary actions for petty matters, such as minor irregularities in travel paperwork;
• Inordinate, sometimes indefinite, delays in approving submission for publication of scientific papers that may be controversial;
• Restrictions on topics that USDA scientists may address in conference presentations; and
• Threats by USDA managers to damage of the careers scientists whose work triggers industry complaints.
Read more from Reuters in this article entitled "Environmental group seeks greater protection for USDA scientists."
What even Reuters is now covering is the truth that the USDA operates in conspiracy with Monsanto to silence real scientists and keep the public in the dark about the real science on GMOs and glyphosate.
Both the FDA and the USDA now actively work in betrayal of the People, colluding with corporations like Monsanto that are poisoning our world and harming our children. There is no longer any real separation between the biotech industry and the U.S. government regulators. They are all the same group of sellouts and poisoners who run what can only be called a modern day scientific dictatorship.

Why Jon Entine is a poster boy for the biotech industry: violence against women, corporate-funded hate speech and gross journalism misconduct
http://www.naturalnews.com/047685_Jon_Entine...
Jon Entine has been a key "black ops" attack dog for the biotech industry, operating under the ACSH. Entine's tactics are malicious and rooted in a deep hatred of humanity. Even Forbes.com eventually had enough of his antics and dropped him from their website, refusing to let him use the Forbes.com web platform to continue printing lies and disinformation about GMO activists.
It all links back to Monsanto -- no surprise, given that Doctor Oz recently came out with a viral video episode discussing the toxicity of the glyphosate herbicide that earns Monsanto the majority of its profits.
Doctor Oz also supports the labeling of GMOs -- another courageous stand that puts him in the direct crosshairs of the "Monsanto Mafia." Although Oz doesn't currently believe GMOs are dangerous to human health, he recognizes the value in consumers having the opportunity to make an informed choice about what they wish to eat or avoid. Fundamentally, nearly every person believes in this same right to know what's in their food. It is only through malicious, deceitful campaigns and illegal money laundering campaign finance schemes that the biotech industry and the criminally-operated Grocery Manufacturers of America have so far managed to block GMO labeling legislation at the state level.
It all makes you wonder: Why isn't the mainstream media attacking the 10 doctors who staged this contrived, fraudulent character assassination attempt on Doctor Oz?
Any real journalist would look into the background of the ten doctors who signed the letter. They would very quickly discover that these people are malicious fraudsters, criminals and corporate-funded "black ops" villains who destroy reputations for a living. This is what they get paid to do. And if you follow the money, it doesn't take long to see where it all comes from: the very same corporate biotech giants that are poisoning our food supply, our soils, our water and our very future.
We are among the last real journalists in modern society who still ask the tough questions, follow the money and dig for the truth behind the public charade. And the simple truth of this story is that Doctor Oz is a man of real courage and integrity who merely seeks to educate the public and give them information and options so they can make a better decision about protecting their own health. But in a world dominated by the sellout media that functions as little more than a propaganda mouthpiece for Big Biotech, Big Pharma and Big Government, the greatest sin of all is telling the truth.
The mainstream media absolutely despises anyone who tells the truth, and it expends tremendous resources to demonize, vilify or marginalize all those who dare utter the truth on any topic that matters: GMOs, vaccines, fluoride, the fraudulent cancer industry and so on. The strategy of the media is simple: If you're a nationally-recognized person, they demonize you. If you aren't yet nationally known, they pretend you don't exist (because they don't want to inadvertently make you famous). But if you are willing to betray humanity and declare that vaccines are awesome, GMOs are healthy and fluoride is good for you, then they make you into a national hero.
Absurdly, all those celebrated by the media are now betraying humanity. All those demonized by the media are trying to save humanity. Being attacked by the mainstream media now means, almost by definition, that you are a good person working in the interests of protecting humanity from what I call "the Poisoners."

The mainstream media thinks a convicted fraud artist is more credible than Doctor Oz?
What's astonishing in all this is that the mainstream media has, by default, granted more credibility to this list of 10 letter signers than they assign to Doctor Oz. Never mind the fact that one of the signers of the letter is a convicted fraud artist, and that all other signers of the letter have financial ties to Big Biotech, Big Pharma or the ACSH.What we have with all this is a monumental failure of journalism -- mainstream media outright rejects the very idea that they should look into the 10 doctors making these allegations against Oz.
An honest media would be attacking the credibility of these fraudster doctors!
When you start looking into the backgrounds of all these people, it doesn't take long to dig up the criminality, fraud and malicious intent of those who are attacking Doctor Oz.It all links back to Monsanto -- no surprise, given that Doctor Oz recently came out with a viral video episode discussing the toxicity of the glyphosate herbicide that earns Monsanto the majority of its profits.
Real journalism is no longer conducted by the mainstream media
What you are witnessing in the attack on Doctor Oz is a medial FAIL of epic proportions. Real journalism is the act of investigating and printing what corporations or governments don't want you to print. Instead, the entire mainstream media today prints ONLY what corporations and governments want to see printed. Real journalism has been abandoned by the media. It now exists almost exclusively in the independent media, at publications like The Intercept and Natural News.We are among the last real journalists in modern society who still ask the tough questions, follow the money and dig for the truth behind the public charade.
"In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell

Man Gets Prison Sentence For Collecting Rainwater On His Own Property
Collecting rainwater on your own property can now lead to jail time, as proven by a man from Oregon who was just sentenced to prison for doing just that. Who owns the rain? The US government, apparently, now. Not so long ago, it was common practice across much of the world to collect rainwater into man made wells on your property as a means of farming, irrigation, and having fresh clean water. It was just as common as canning your own food, having knowledge of at least some basic survival skills, and being self-sufficient.
It wasn’t even that many generations ago that all of this was common practice – people born before WWII were pretty adept at these skills, as they were a necessity to survival. One of the main (and easiest) ways to ensure survival? Collecting rainwater on your own property. The practical uses for storing and collecting rainwater are numerous and many people across the world in rural areas still do it today for all of the reasons listed above. However, over the past few years, laws making the collection of rainwater illegal have been causing an uproar across the US.
Now, a man from Grey Point, Oregon has been sentenced to thirty days in prison for storing collected rainwater on his very own property – and the public is outraged.

Braised Beef Moroccan Style Recipe Cooking Tips
To pump up the healthy goodness in this braised beef recipe, follow these practical cooking and preparation tips:
- Spices
- Store your spices in a cool and dark place like your cupboard to prevent sunlight exposure, which facilitates its decline in quality.
- Discard spices more than six months old. The sooner you use your spices, the better.
- Most dried spices are best added at the beginning of the cooking process since heat and moisture are necessary to release their essential oils.2
- Ground and whole spices can be lightly toasted or dry-roasted to release their more natural oils. Toasted spices have a shorter shelf life, so toast only when ready to use in your next recipe.3
- Wash your hands thoroughly immediately after handling cayenne pepper and avoid contact with your eyes at all cost to prevent irritation. Tip: to reduce the burning sensation, remove the seeds from the cayenne pepper before cooking.4
- Opt for the full organic turmeric spice rather than the curry blend, which has a very little amount of healthy components.
- Garlic
- Be careful when sautéing garlic as it can turn extremely bitter once burned.
- One finely minced or pressed garlic gives off way more flavor and aroma than a dozen cooked whole cloves combined. Tip: the smaller you cut your garlic, the stronger its flavor will be. Chopping finely and/or pressing a clove exposes more surfaces to the air, causing a chemical reaction to produce that strong aroma and potent flavor.5
- Tomatoes
- Go for organic tomatoes as research shows they contain 55 percent more vitamin C and 139 percent more total phenolic content at the stage of commercial maturity compared to conventionally grown tomatoes.6
- Avoid canned tomatoes. Although a popularly convenient choice when making tomato sauces, canned tomatoes typically have a lining that contains bisphenol-A (BPA), which is a potent endocrine-disrupting chemical that has been linked to a number of health problems, including diabetes, heart disease, heightened risk of breast and prostate cancers, neurological effects, reproductive problems, and obesity.
- Since lycopene is a fat-soluble nutrient, it’s best to consume raw or cooked tomatoes with some type of fat, such as coconut oil, which is what we used in this recipe.
- Do not put your tomatoes inside the refrigerator to prevent changes in their taste and texture. If a tomato gets too cold, not only will its flavor be affected but also its texture, color, ripening potential, and much more. If you've put your tomatoes in the fridge by mistake, just let them sit at room temperature for 24 hours before eating. Allowing them to ripen naturally on your countertop will bring out the best in your tomato in terms of taste and flavor.
- Beef
- Buy only locally grown grass-finished beef from a trusted producer to guarantee that the cow was not given grains, hormones, or any artificial enhancers, which have long been proven to cause numerous harmful side effects to humans.
There's a lot of confusion about the term "grass-fed," and in many cases, it's an abused term like the word "natural." Some producers of beef will misuse this term because the rules around it are still somewhat undefined. Most all calves are fed grass for a certain amount of time.
This is one factor that allows less scrupulous producers to get away with calling their beef grass-fed. The key to a truly grass-fed product is actually the finishing. Optimal beef is both grass-fed and grass-finished beef.
To make sure you're getting the highest quality possible, your best bet is to get to know your local farmer or rancher—what his philosophy is and how he raises his herd. If at all possible, visit the farm to see the operation for yourself.
If you cannot find a wholesome, organic rancher near your area, visit reputable online sources like The Grassfed Network, Eat Wild, Local Harvest, Grassfed Exchange, FoodRoutes, Eat Well Guide, and Farmers' Markets.
- Joey Jones of the GrassfedNetwork.com recommends thinking of grass-fed beef as a seasonal product, just like produce. You could buy it fresh, in season, and then freeze it afterwards. According to Joey, a steak or ground beef will stay fresh for up to a year if properly vacuum sealed and frozen.
- Bone Broth
- I recommend making your own bone broth instead of buying pre-packed supermarket varieties. For a more detailed instruction on how to make your own bone broth, check out this hearty Bone Broth Recipe.
- Make sure you get your bones only from organic, grass-finished beef to save yourself and your family from consuming a concentrated cocktail of toxic growth enhancers and feeds that non-organic sources will give you.
- Mix meaty bones with thick marrow, also called “soup bones” by local butchers, with some cut up hooves, knuckles, or skull. Not only will they add more flavor, but they’ll also give your broth that rich gelatinous consistency packed with glucosamine and chondroitin, which your joints will surely thank you for.
- Cook your broth in bulk and store them for future use either in storage-friendly quart-sized freezer bags or in ice cube trays, which are very useful when you need to add only a dash of flavor to your dishes.7
- Fruit Juice
- Make your own fruit juice at home instead of buying from the grocery. This way, you’re sure that it’s free from toxic preservatives and unnecessary additives.
- Visit a farmers’ market near you to get hold of the freshest organic and locally grown fruits for your juice.
- Choose firm and plump berries, pomegranates, and grapes with vibrant colors. Avoid those with stains, wrinkles, cuts, bleached spots, and other signs of damage.

Federal judge orders identity theft
In yet another astonishing example of the expanding insanity of the
judicial activism sweeping across America, a federal bankruptcy judge in
the Southern District of Texas has ordered an individual to commit his own identity theft on Facebook and violate the Facebook terms of service he has agreed to, or be arrested and thrown in jail at noon tomorrow.
On April 3, Judge Jeff Bohm issued an "ORDER DENYING JEREMY ALCEDE'S EMERGENCY MOTION OBJECTING TO PROPOSED ORDER REGARDING SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS." (Case No. 14-33564, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division.) (See document here - PDF.)
The account in question is named "Jeremy Alcede Entrepreneur" and is accessible at this Facebook page with the same name. It has over 10,800 likes and the maximum 5,000 friends.
The account was previously named "Tactical Firearms" but was used almost exclusively for personal messages from the founder of the company, Jeremy Alcede. "I posted fewer than 20 commercial promotion messages over the 5 years, such as Black Friday specials," Alcede told Natural News. "I had thousands of personal posts over that same time period. The account was used almost exclusively for personal messaging to fans and friends."
To clarify his personal account status during the business bankruptcy fallout, Alcede updated the account name last December to "Jeremy Alcede Entrepreneur" in order to reflect his personal namesake.
A casual examination of the posts on the account by Natural News indicates it consists almost entirely of messages that are personal in nature, not commercial.
Per the court order, Alcede is even being ordered by a judge to accept a Facebook friend! (When was the last time a court judge ordered you to friend someone you didn't consider a friend at all?)
ORDERED that Jeremy Alcede shall, by no later than noon on April 8, 2015, accept John Boyert's Friend Request; and it is further
ORDERED that Jeremy Alced shall, by no later than noon on April 8, 2015, make John Boyert an "Admin" of the Facebook Page by navigating to "Page Roles" under the Facebook Page "Settings," typing John Boyert, selecting "Admin" from the drop-down menu, and then clicking "Save"; and it is further
ORDERED that Jeremy Alcede shall, by no later than noon on April 8, 2015, change the password to the Twitter Account to a password that he will share with John Boyert by navigating to Settings - Password, entering the current password in the "Current password" field, entering the new password (the New Password) in the "New password" field, entering the New Password in the "Verify password" field, and then clicking "Save changes"; and it is further...
But by handing over the password of his personal page to the new owners of the company, Alcede would be committing his own identity theft on Facebook, granting the hostile parties who have taken over the business the opportunity to smear Alcede's name and reputation by posting false messages that appear to be coming from Alcede himself.
"They could say I love Barack Obama... they would be impersonating me," Alcede told Natural News. "This is court-sanctioned identity theft."
Under the Facebook.com legal terms, section 4, "Registration and Account Security," the user agreement states "You will not transfer your account (including any Page or application you administer) to anyone without first getting our written permission."
The Facebook legal terms page also explains, "You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook, and you can control how it is shared through your privacy and application settings."
Thus, even Facebook confirms that the person who posts the content OWNS the content, implying they must also own the "likes" to that same content.
Judge Jeff Bohm strangely disagrees, insisting that Jeremy Alcede's thousands of posts, 10,000+ likes and 5,000 friends suddenly belong to the business he once founded but now has no part of. If this ruling is allowed to stand, it would set a dangerous precedent for social media, allowing court judges to seize personal Facebook pages and reassign them to other parties who can then impersonate the original Facebook account founder to smear their reputations, exploit their fan base and conduct commercial marketing campaigns disguised as personal appeals in the name of a person who has been cut off from communicating with his own Facebook followers.
As Judge Bohm writes in his court opinion, he believes that Alcede's personal social media pages should become the property of the reorganized business merely because Alcede's personal page recommended that business on fewer than 20 occasions over a five-year period. Here's what Judge Bohm writes:
The instant dispute involves one central question: what social media property belongs to the reorganized corporate Debtor as opposed to Mr. Alcede, personally? This Court concludes that the Facebook Page that Mr. Alcede refers to as his "likes" page and the sole Twitter account discussed at the hearings are both property of the reorganized debtor, and not the personal property of Mr. Alcede. As an initial matter, this Court notes that Mr. Alcede's choice of terminology to refer to the social media accounts is misleading, perhaps deliberately so.
As Alcede explained to Natural News, the mere recommendation of a business from a personal social media account page does not grant that business any claim to ownership or control over the social media page. "If I recommended Papadeaux's restaurant ten times over five years, does that mean the Papadeaux corporation now owns my personal Facebook page?" Alcede asked Natural News. "I don't think so."
Now Alcede finds himself in a catch-22 conundrum. If he chooses to follow the court order, his account could be terminated by Facebook for a terms of service violation while the new owners of Tactical Firearms maliciously impersonate him to post defamatory messages to his own followers. If he chooses to reject the court order, he will be arrested and thrown in jail, then held in contempt of court. Either way, he is screwed by a federal court judge whose views of social media seem to be wildly outdated.
Alcede says that he was essentially muscled out of the business by people who had more money to hire more lawyers who made false claims against him. He told Natural News he has proof that they deliberately bankrupted the company in order to seize control of it (see court testimony document pictures below). This article has no intention of attempting to sort out the validity of such disagreements in the bankruptcy proceedings itself. Rather, this article is concerned solely with the seemingly bizarre decision of a federal judge to force a man -- essentially at gunpoint -- to hand over control of his own personal social media page to another party which may then use that page to defame him.
In this court document, Judge Bohm attempts to argue that Alcede's personal Facebook page should be considered property of the receiving bankruptcy party, but this argument appears to wholly ignore that the primary use of the page was for personal messaging, and that the "likes" of the page were likes created by people who enjoyed Jeremy Alcede's hilarious personal posts, not people who were signing up to hear corporate press releases from a commercial entity.
Thus, Judge Bohm weaves a misdirected legal argument that misses the forest for the trees. Additionally, Jeremy Alcede himself is something of a celebrity in Katy, Texas, for his outspoken street signs that mock President Obama and anti-gun activists in general. Alcede was featured by Piers Morgan on a "gun experience" news show, and he is recognized by locals as an outspoken, sometimes belligerant, pro-gun activist who makes waves and is therefore highly fascinating to observe. Many of the customers who visit Tactical Firearms in Katy were, in fact, attracted to the business because of the personal antics of Jeremy Alcede himself. He is not just the founder of Tactical Firearms, but in a very real sense also the "celebrity face" of the business.
If Alcede is no longer associated with Tactical Firearms, many of his personal fans and followers will likely distance themselves from the company as well. That's why it appears the court-ordered takeover of Alcede's personal social media accounts is so critically important to the bankruptcy receivers: They need the name of Jeremy Alcede to keep the business going. So they've convinced a federal judge to steal it for them.
If this decision stands, it means all of us who have personal Facebook accounts -- mine has 1.5 million likes -- can have our accounts stolen by activist judges who fail to understand the dynamics of modern-day social media.
How would you like it if a judge ordered you to turn over your own personal Facebook page to someone else or go to jail?
Sound off in the comments section below.
"I served my country and I paid my taxes, and I think I have a First Amendment to free speech in my own private name." - Jeremy Alcede

Court orders private individual to give up his own Facebook account
The winners of the bankruptcy proceedings, however, wish to use the "Jeremy Alcede Entrepreneur" account to promote the business they have been granted via the bankruptcy proceedings. Without those 10,800+ likes, 5,000 friends and who knows how many followers, they may not be able to successfully generate the business and cash flow necessary to keep the business afloat. So they asked Judge Jeff Bohm to force Alcede to turn over the account to them, allowing them to post messages in the name of Jeremy Alcede to Alcede's friends and followers, effectively impersonating Alcede.Per the court order, Alcede is even being ordered by a judge to accept a Facebook friend! Judge forcing Facebook user to violate Facebook's terms of use
The court order by Judge Jeff Bohm -- who appears to be unfamiliar with modern-day social media dynamics -- would also force Jeremy Alcede to violate Facebook's terms of service.Under the Facebook.com legal terms, section 4, "Registration and Account Security," the user agreement states "You will not transfer your account (including any Page or application you administer) to anyone without first getting our written permission."

Nasty bankruptcy proceeding turns into a theater of the absurd
The bankruptcy in question appears to be a particularly nasty disagreement between Jeremy Alcede, founder of Tactical Firearms in Katy, Texas, and investors Stephen Coe Wilson and John Boyert. As this court document reveals, Alcede was accused of embezzling from the company by diverting funds from the sale of used firearms shells.Alcede says that he was essentially muscled out of the business by people who had more money to hire more lawyers who made false claims against him. He told Natural News he has proof that they deliberately bankrupted the company in order to seize control of it (see court testimony document pictures below). Buyer beware: The health benefits of almonds are being destroyed
For thousands of years, almonds have been considered one of the healthiest foods on planet Earth. Almonds are nutritional powerhouses – a true superfood.
Even the ancient Egyptians were aware of the health benefits of almonds, and the pharaoh King Tut was said to have taken almonds along into the afterlife.
The health benefits of almonds include:
Muscle-building protein
Heart-healthy antioxidants
Natural fiber
Healthy fatty acids
Beneficial vitamin B, magnesium and copper
A portable, healthy snack
Promote satiety and weight loss
Reduced risk of gallstones
Regulate blood glucose
Prevent oxidative damage
The unfortunate truth about ‘natural’ almonds
But, before purchasing almonds today, consumers should be aware of a horrifying fact: most almonds sold in the United States are now treated in a manner that offsets all of these wonderful benefits. Many almonds now are fumigated with a chemical called propylene oxide – something that even the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) admits can lead to cancer.
The year 2007 marked a time in the U.S. food market when it became illegal to sell raw almonds. This occurred due to a salmonella outbreak in Canada that was traced back to a California almond grower. A second outbreak led to the mandate for ‘treatment’ of the nuts. (Many think it’s strange that salmonella even occurred in a food as dry as almonds in the first place.)
Sadly, the treatment processes and government issued compliance standards drove many smaller almond producers out of business. Now most almonds come from big corporate producers willing to either heat almonds above 200 degrees or fumigate then in a closed chamber with propylene oxide gas.
Today, even almonds sold as “organic” are treated using the heating process. Those not labeled as organic are generally getting the fumigation treatment.
Why are today’s almonds so toxic?
The propylene oxide that is used to treat almonds is banned in Canada, Mexico, and the entire European Union. It is classified as a health hazard within the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals – due to its acute toxicity, carcinogenic and mutagenic properties. The American Motorcycle Association as well as the National Hot Rod Association in the U.S. has banned propylene oxide as a fuel due to the dangers of its fumes.
Almond brands treated with propylene oxide include Costco’s Kirkland Signature chocolate-covered almonds, Diamond almonds of California, and Superior Nut Company – except for their online organic almonds.
Companies that sell heat treated almonds include Trader Joe’s, Planter’s, Back to Nature and Blue Diamond sliced and slivered almonds (their whole nuts are fumigated). Whole Foods organic 365 line is likely heat treated, but the conventional line may not be.

Founder of LXR Organics explains how he developed a natural acne treatment
Most topical acne products on the market today are nothing more than
cheap blends of toxic, skin-drying chemicals that both fail to address
the root causes of acne and promote rapid aging. But a revolutionary new
product line developed by a sharp young man with a family legacy of
natural healing offers a pure and highly effective acne treatment
alternative that won't dry out your skin and won't pollute your body
with toxic chemicals.
Kyle Craichy's LXR Organics acne treatment system is truly one of a kind, combining the best in all-natural skin care with the safest and most effective nutrients for optimal skin oil management. Nothing about AcneLXR, the flagship product, is synthetic, and the product was carefully designed to work in synergy with the body's natural functions rather than fighting against them -- there really is no other product on the market like this!
After struggling for years with conventional acne products that weren't helping his own acne condition, Kyle took to the books and science journals to come up with a viable alternative. The son of Living Fuel's K.C. Craichy, Kyle was committed to developing a safe, all-natural acne treatment product with no chemical preservatives, no toxic additives and no synthetic skin-drying compounds -- just clean ingredients derived from nature.
Some people doubted that it could be done, but Kyle ultimately achieved his goal and is now offering the fruits of his labor of love to the world. We recently spoke with Kyle about his AcneLXR product, and he explained more about what went into the development of this revolutionary, all-natural acne treatment solution.
"Most of the ingredients in AcneLXR have significant antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to start out with, like pantothenic acid, tea tree oil, grape seed oil, and red palm oil," said Kyle. "My production was actually postponed for months because I absolutely refused to use the toxic preservatives found in every skin care product out there, including acne products."
The Environmental Working Group (EWG) lists silver citrate as a low-risk additive with no known risks to human health:
EWG.org.
"My research led me to believe that silver citrate should work as an all-natural preservative, though my manufacturers didn't think that it would," Kyle told us. "We took it through the proper stability and antimicrobial testing procedures and it passed with flying colors."
Rather than fight against the body's natural production of sebum like many other conventional acne products do, AcneLXR actually works with it to help maintain healthy, moist, elastic and young-looking skin. Controlling the body's production of oil rather than eliminating it is the best way to avoid the pore clogging that leads to acne, says Kyle, and AcneLXR does just this -- naturally!
"I encourage people to compare my ingredients to anything on the market," said Kyle. "From the essential oils, to the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids... I have gone to great lengths to provide not just the best ingredients but also the purest forms of them that are available in AcneLXR."

LXR Organics products preserved with all-natural, antimicrobial silver
One major challenge when developing truly all-natural skin care products is figuring out how to keep them shelf-stable without synthetic chemicals. Through his own extensive research, Kyle came up with silver citrate, an ionic form of silver that is naturally antimicrobial and non-toxic, as the safest and most viable option. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) lists silver citrate as a low-risk additive with no known risks to human health:
