About One Week of US Military Spending Would Wipe Out World Hunger

As continued reports of expensive and devastating military drone strikes roll in from overseas, which have actually taken the lives of US citizens in addition to countless innocents, virtually no one is talking about the very realistic expense of literally solving world hunger. An overall expense that has been calculated to be about $30 billion per year. To put that into perspective for you, the US military spent $737 billion on ‘military defense’ in 2012, $30 billion of which is about 8 days of such an expenditure.
Now I’ll be the first to admit that it is not the ‘job’ of the United States populace and government to go around saving the world in every manner, but it’s especially not the job of the nation to be policing the world through military dominance based on fabrications and laughable WMD allegations. The bloated military budget is funding things like drone strikes on innocents (to which the real figures have been scrubbed by the Air Force), the continuation of an excessive 1,000 or so military bases around the globe, and a series of new wars brought upon by political rhetoric.
But it’s not even about the military budget.
As The Borgen Project notes on their website, feeding the world actually offers benefits beyond the basic moral implications (that most corporations and politicians couldn’t care less about). Even the Los Angeles Times has written about how spending the 30 billion to annihilate the massive worldwide starvation crisis, or perhaps even a fraction of it for less, would generate business on a level that would trump virtually any form of economic ‘recovery’ that may be hiding behind the next financial meltdown scare.
We’re talking about a new revolution of individuals who were previously unable to work, let alone walk, now providing economic value to the world. Perhaps most importantly, we’re talking about a method that could solve the highly complicated immigration problem once and for all. An initiative that could ultimately save many more billions from this fact alone.

The study established a direct link between cancer deaths in Belo Horizonte, Brazil’s third largest city, with the cell phone network.
What does this direct link stem from?
Over 80 percent of those who succumbed to certain types of cancer resided approximately a third of a mile away from one of the hundreds of cell phone antennae that populate the city.

All the studies shared similar findings: living within a certain proximity to a cell phone tower increased the risk of cancer anywhere from two to 121 times depending on what type of cancer was detected.
Adilza Condessa Dode, PhD, one of the engineering researchers as well as the coordinator of the Brazilian study, addresses those who are concerned about cell phone tower radiation and explains the Brazil study does not stand alone. Dode elaborates, “these levels (EMFs), are already high and dangerous to human health. The closer you live to an antenna, the greater the contact with the electromagnetic field.”
The Brazilian study covers just one city in Brazil. Residents of the United States are vulnerable too as America is home to hundreds of thousands of these radiation emitting towers. 11 Yr Old Autistic Girl Tasered by State Trooper
When police found a confused and naked 11-year-old girl wandering a
stretch of highway along the I-5 corridor in Oregon, they didn’t exactly
offer her a ride home. Instead the responding officer determined the
best course of action would be to Taser her.
This past Sunday morning, cab driver Adam Bednar was aghast when he came upon the adolescent walking down the highway seemingly confused. She was nude and threw Bednar a smile, indicating she wasn’t fully aware of where she was or what she was doing.
“I thought she was drugged. I thought she was on bath salts, too much meth, something,” said Bednar.
“Bednar says he drove alongside her while he called police,” KDRV.com reported. “He says the trooper who arrived called for her to stop, and when she didn’t respond threatened twice to taze her.”
According to the girl’s father, who has contacted Infowars.com, the girl was autistic and didn’t respond to officers due to her ailment. “After giving no response, two little red dots appeared on her back, then metal barbs,” KDRV wrote.
“She seized up, then she just fell face first on the ground,” Bednar described. “Just face first on the ground.”
Adding insult to injury, Oregon State Police officials initially defended the officer’s reaction saying Tasering the 11-year-old girl was necessary to prevent her from wandering further down the road “and putting herself in danger.”
But Bednar says that explanation doesn’t hold up. “She wasn’t going off the road, she was set on walking down the freeway,” Bednar told KDRV. “And I think that, had [the trooper] waited for back up, they could have gotten her without the Taser.”
The girl’s father also took issue with KDRV’s reportage, which frequently referred to the girl as a “young woman,” a “woman” and a “juvenile.” The report also neglected to give her age.
“They keep calling her a ‘woman’ …she is 11 years old. Since when is an 11-year-old kid with the mind of a 3-year-old a ‘woman’?” the girl’s father, who listens to Infowars, told us. “She is very gentle and non combative. If the police cannot apprehend a child who is cooperative without Tasing then what would be the alternative? Shooting her?”
Fortunately, police were gracious enough not to charge the girl or her family with a crime.
As we have detailed numerous times, Tasers are designed to be used only in emergency situations, as a last resort before lethal force; however, police frequently employ the sometimes deadly devices to force compliance.
KDRV’s account of the event also highlights the incestuous relationship between media and police. Instead of questioning authorities and pressing officers on why they would Tase an 11-year-old, the compliant reporters attempt to convince viewers they’re remaining objective and presenting all the facts.
As her father mentioned, the reporters also intentionally misled viewers over the girl’s age, referring to her as a “woman.”

IRS seizes medical records of 60 million Americans
It comes as no surprise that the IRS is now stealing people's sensitive
medical records. That's the case in California. A reported 60 million
medical records have been seized by 15 IRS agents. The House Energy and
Commerce Committee is now investigating a lawsuit initiated by a
California health care provider that purports that the IRS stole
"intimate and private information of more than 10,000,000 Americans
including the names and health records of prominent celebrities, sports
personalities, and CEOs, ultimately affecting roughly one out of every
twenty-five adult American citizens."
These power grabbers didn't fool around. They went for the entire company's IT system, telling the IT personnel "to transfer several servers of the medical records and patient records to the IRS for search and seizure, otherwise they would 'rip' the servers out of the building entirely."
After further investigation, the IRS agents used the stolen IT media system to even order pizza and watch basketball at their headquarters.
The charges also state that the IRS agents had initially obtained a search

Military told not to read Obama-scandal news
President Obama has said the outrage over the federal government’s decision to monitor citizens’ phone activity is all “hype.”
He might want to share his opinion with the U.S. Air Force, which is ordering members of the service not to look at news stories about it.
WND has received an unclassified NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) that warns airmen not to look at news stories related to the data-mining scandal.
The notice applies to users of the Air Force NIPRNET (Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network), which is the only way that many troops stationed overseas and on bases in the U.S. are able to access the Internet.
The last line of the executive summary states:
“Users are not to use AF NIPRNET systems to access the Verizon phone records collection and other related news stories because the action could constitute a Classified Message Incident.”

Honeybees are perhaps one of the least recognized workers in the agricultural industry. They contribute $15 billion in annual agriculture revenue to the US economy alone, as a full one-third of the American food supply depends on them pollinating crops.

California Almond Orchards Threatened by Bee Loss
As discussed in Dan Rather’s report, 80 percent of the world’s almonds come from California’s central valley, an 800,000 acre area of almond orchards that are 100 percent dependent on bees pollinating the trees. Surprisingly, almonds are the number one agricultural product in California.
Once a year, in late winter, 1.5 million bee hives from around the country are delivered to these orchards where the bees’ pollination efforts take place over the course of just a few days. It’s the largest mass-pollination effort in the world.
This year, however, the unthinkable happened. Many of the 6,000 orchard owners simply could not find enough bees to pollinate their almond trees, at any price... One of the beekeepers featured in Rather’s report is John Miller, President of the California state Beekepers Association. His family has tended bees since 1894.
Of the 11,000 hives brought to California by Miller, hundreds of hives turned out to be dead when opened up. According to Miller, “the past 30 years have been tumultuous with 40 percent of the national herd dying or dead.”
Another fourth generation beekeeper named Anderson lost 70 percent of his hives this year. Yet another outfit lost 100 percent of his bees...

Now FBI wants back door to all software
The FBI is unhappy that there are communications technologies that it
cannot intercept and wants to require that software makers and
communications companies create a back door so they can listen in when
they desire.
But a team of technology experts warns the move would hand over to the nation’s enemies abilities they are not capable of developing for themselves.
The Washington Post reported
the issue is being raised by the FBI because “there is currently no way
to wiretap some of these communications methods easily, and companies
effectively.”
The solution, according to the FBI, is to fine companies when they fail to comply with wiretap orders, essentially requiring all companies to build a back door for wiretap capabilities into all their communications links.
“The importance to us is pretty clear,” FBI general counsel Andrew Weissman said in the report. “We don’t have the ability to go to court and say, ‘We need a court order to effectuate the intercept.’”
But a report by the Center for Democracy & Technology warns of unintended consequences.
“Wiretap functionality allows covert access to communications that can be exploited not only by law enforcement, but by criminals, terrorists, and foreign military and intelligence agencies,” the report said. “Wiretap endpoints will be vulnerable to exploitation and difficult to secure.”

The order, marked "Top Secret" and issued by the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court instructs Verizon to hand over data including all calling records on an "ongoing, daily basis".
A scanned copy of the court order was published by The Guardian on its website.
News of the order, which has not been independently verified by NBC News, comes after the Obama administration has taken fire for a Justice Department subpoena of Associated Press phone records.
Attorney General Eric Holder told NBC News Wednesday that he has no intention of stepping down from his job despite calls by some congressional Republicans for his resignation, citing the AP seizure.

The uncertainty appears to arise from the use of so-called “signature” strikes to eliminate suspected terrorists -- picking targets based in part on their behavior and associates. A former White House official said the U.S. sometimes executes people based on “circumstantial evidence.”

Today, on the 15th anniversary of visionary Matt Drudge’s speech to the National Press Club, his prophetic words haunt once-flourishing segments of the news industry.
According to the Pew Research Center for People & the Press, more Americans now get news from the Internet rather than radio or newspapers. Likewise, Pew notes that TV news is “increasingly vulnerable, as it may be losing its hold on the next generation of news consumers.”
It’s been almost two decades since Drudge crashed the news scene and turned the Old Media on its head – causing many mainstream newshounds to sneer at the thought of an amateur with wild instinct and an unpretentious news website threatening their media empire.
Drudge, occasionally dressed in only his underwear, rocked the news world from a small Hollywood apartment accompanied only by his black stray feline, aptly named “Cat.”
